Advice from the experts
Spare screws are included with each part. Occasionally, you may be instructed to keep spare or unused screws for a later stage. Keep these spares in a safe place and label them correctly.
Please make sure you don’t mix up the screws. They look quite similar, but the threads do vary slightly. Using the wrong screws may damage the parts. Only use the correct size screwdriver that fits the screw head firmly.
When securing parts together using multiple screws, fit each screw loosely to ensure all the parts are correctly aligned before gently tightening them firmly, but not overtight, in the order in which you placed them.
The screwdriver can be magnetized by stroking it with a magnet (fridge magnet, etc.) enabling it to hold the screws and make assembly easier.
If a screw is tight going into a metal part, do not force it as you may shear the head off. Remove it and put a tiny smear of Vaseline, soap or light oil on the thread. That will lubricate it and make it easier to tighten.
Some parts will require a little glue for assembly. Please apply glue sparingly and use a cocktail stick so that you don’t use too much nor apply the glue too heavily. We recommend superglue gel or Extra Thin Liquid modeling glue. Where possible, parts should be test-fitted in place before gluing.
Make sure you have good ventilation when using adhesives and to replace caps firmly.
Use a magnet to help find screws that have fallen on the floor.
Use masking tape to hold parts temporarily in place.
Cut parts from a sprue (framework) with side cutters or a craft knife. Side cutters tend to be easiest.
During the course of this build, you will receive many pieces that you will assemble immediately – following the instructions in the corresponding stage – and other pieces that you should store safely to one side, for use in future assembly stages.
Always protect the paint finish on components by placing a cutting mat, sheet of white paper or soft cloth on your work surface.
When plugging cables in, ensure the power is switched off. Tweezers can be used to fit the PVC cables by gripping carefully around 5mm from the end of the cable. If a cable needs to be removed from a socket, do not pull on the cable as this could damage the connection. Grip the plug with tweezers to remove it.
Left and Right! When building your Goldfinger DB5, the left- or right-hand side refers to that side as if you are sitting in the car.
When you see this symbol, pay attention to the instruction text in bold and check the orientation of the parts in the image as this will be particularly important for assembly in later stages.
WARNING: Some parts are assembled using magnets. These magnets can cause serious injury if they are swallowed. Keep away from children. If you suspect a magnet has been swallowed, seek medical help straight away.
This is not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years old due to small parts. Adult supervision required.

Step 1
Fit the fan cowl (67-B) to the back of the radiator (67-A).
Step 2
Secure with 4x PS05.

Step 1
Fit the back of the radiator (stage 067) to the front of the radiator (68-A).
Step 2
Secure with 4x PS05.
Step 3
Fit the pipe (68-B) to the assembly.
Step 4
Fit the assembly to the chassis and the engine (stage 066).
Take care to fit the fan into the fan cowl and fit the pipe into the cooling water thermostat.
Step 5
Secure with 2x DS02.
Step 6
Fit the hose (68-C) to the header tank and the pipe as shown.

Step 1
Fit the left door handle (69-B) to the left door (69-A).
Step 2
Secure with 1x PS21.

Step 1
Place the door hinge mount (70-C) onto the left door (stage 069). Make sure the door hinge mount is in the orientation shown.
Step 2
Fit the door hinge plate (70-B) in place.
Position the door hinge mount to face upwards.
Step 3
Secure with 1x DS02.
To ensure a good fit for the doors, ensure the screws are as tight as possible.
Step 4
Fit the left window (70-A) to the assembly.
Secure with 2x DS02.

Fit the left interior door handle (71-C) to the left door panel (71-A).
Step 2
Secure with 1x PS12.
Step 3
Fit the left door armrest (71-B) to the assembly.
Step 4
Secure with 2x PS05.

Step 1
Fit the left door panel (stage 071) to the inside panel (72-A).
Step 2
Secure with 4x PS05.
Step 3
Fit the assembly to the left door (stage 070).
Step 4
Secure with 3x DS02.
Step 5
Starting with the bottom tabs, fit the top trim (72-B) onto the assembly.
Step 6
Fit the bottom trim (72-C) to the assembly. Start with fixing No. 1, then follow with No. 2, 3 and 4 in sequence.
Step 7
Fit the chrome trim (72-D) to the assembly.

Step 1
Fit the radio antenna (73-D) to the body (73-A).
Step 2
Secure with 1x PS02.
Step 3
Fit a DB5 badge (73-B or 73-C) to right-hand side of the assembly.
Step 4
Fit the other DB5 badge to left-hand side of the assembly.

Step 1
Take the left fuel filler housing (74-B) and left fuel filler cover (74-C). Both parts are marked with "L".
Step 2
Fit the left fuel filler housing and left fuel filler cover together.
Fit the fuel filler cap (74-F) onto the assembly as shown. The part can only fit one way.
Step 3
Secure with 1x DS33.
Step 4
Fit the assembly to the body (stage 073).
Secure with 1x PS01.
Step 5
Take the right fuel filler housing (74-D) and right fuel filler cover (74-E), which are marked with "R".
Step 6
Fit the parts together.
Fit the fuel filler cap (74-F).
Step 7
Secure with 1x DS33.
Step 8
Fit the assembly to the body.
Secure with 1x PS01.

Step 1
Fit the rear window (74-A) to the body (stage 074).
Step 2
Fit the rear window frame (75-A) onto the assembly.
Step 3
Secure with 7x PS21.
Do not screw into the hole closest to the rear (circled).
Step 4
Detach the mirror backing plates (75-D) from the sprue. The parts are marked with "L" and "R" which correspond to the markings on the left side mirror (75-B) and the right side mirror (75-C).
Step 5
Fit the mirror backing plate (75-D) marked "L" into the left side mirror (75-B).
Step 6
Peel a side mirror sticker (75-E) from the backing paper.
Stick the side mirror sticker to the assembly.
Step 7
Repeat steps 5 and 6 to assemble the right side mirror.
Note: the side mirror sticker has a layer of protective film. This should only be removed once the build has been completed.
Step 8
The fittings on the side mirrors are different sizes. The left side mirror has a larger fitting.
Step 9
Fit the left side mirror to the body.
Step 10
Secure with 1x PS01.
Step 11
Fit the right side mirror to the body.
Secure with 1x PS01.
